Call Emmy Sitter FAQs
This FAQ applies to all sitters working through Call Emmy, including private family bookings and events or conferences.
Universal Expectations (Applies to ALL Bookings)
Professional Dress Code
Sitters are expected to dress comfortably, professionally, and tastefully. Not permitted at any booking:
- Revealing clothing
- Ripped or distressed clothing
- Clothing with offensive language or imagery
Phone Use While on the Job
- No personal phone use while actively caring for children
- Phones may only be used for work-related communication or emergencies
- No chewing gum while on the job
- No foul or inappropriate language at any time
Photos & Videos
Absolutely no photos or videos of children under any circumstances. No personal photos, no videos, no social media. This rule applies to both private bookings and events, without exception.
Physical Contact with Children
Children 3 years and older: No physical contact is permitted without explicit permission from BOTH the parent and the child. This includes no holding, picking up, or carrying; no wrestling or rough play; no tickling; no hugs, hand-holding, or any other form of touch.
Children younger than 3 years: Sitters may provide age-appropriate comforting and soothing contact (gentle holding, rocking, soothing touch) as well as diaper changes.
When in doubt, ask. Always default to no contact.
Running Late
Notify the parent (for private bookings) or event lead (for events) and immediately text Call Emmy Support at 303-276-5752.
Cancellations & Reliability
Reliability is a core expectation. More than two sitter-initiated cancellations may result in suspension. Exceptions may be made only for acts of God, true emergencies, or verifiable illness.
No-Shows
A no-show for any booking results in immediate rejection from the Call Emmy platform.
Section 1: Private Bookings
Reach out to the parent through in-app chat before your booking, confirm details on arrival (children's names and ages, allergies, emergency contacts, house rules, comfort items), and use our Babysitting Checklist as a guide. Stay calm and reassuring with upset children. Time extensions must be approved by the parent in the app.
Section 2: Events & Conferences
Event childcare typically includes multiple children in a shared space, working alongside other vetted sitters, a designated event lead or coordinator, and group-based activities. For event childcare, sitters do not communicate directly with parents — all communication flows through the event lead or designated Call Emmy contact. Arrive 10–15 minutes early.
Why This Matters
Whether caring for a single family or supporting a large conference, sitters represent Call Emmy. Trust, safety, professionalism, and reliability are foundational to everything we do.
